    Description

    Antique 14 karat yellow gold, hinged opening, oval locket with a raised applied monogram of interlocking letters "HCE" (or other reading order) on one side, and on the other side the hand engraved date "June 17th 1873", and on the inside hand engraved "From Uncle Lafe".  The locket weighs 13 pennyweights and measures 1 1/2 inches high not including the top suspension rings and 1 3/16 inches across and 1/4 inch deep.  The piece is not marked but has been tested and is guaranteed to be of solid 14k gold.  There is no crystal or glazing for the removable bezel inset ring.  There are tiny nicks and fine scratches overall, and some tarnish, otherwise in fine antique condition.
