ANTIQUE Ladies Gold Filled Pocket Watch Necklace  - Hand Painted Honey Bee  on Four Leaf Clover Flower Mother of Pearl
A beautiful One of a Kind, Hand Painted Gold Filled Necklace fashioned from an antique watch case. When I purchased this, ladies pocket watch, the movement was damaged. I loved the watch so I began to imagined how I could breathe new life into It. I cut a round "canvas" of genuine Mother of Pearl, and hand painted a honey bee perched on a clover four leaf blossom. The white MOP has the most beautiful natural luster in iridescent shades of pinks and greens. The painting is done in gouache, an ancient medium use to paint miniatures for hundreds of years. The painted MOP disc has been affixed to the gold filled watch and an antique watch crystal protects the painting. The miniature painting measures a mere 7/8 of an inch in diameter and the watch case measures 1-1/8 inches across. The pocket watch is suspended off a 17 inch gold filled chain, accented with a tiny gold bee bail and pearl drop. The back of the watch case is hinged and opens  to enable you to insert your keepsake or photo. The inside back cover reads Waltham, Pat. May 11, 1915 along with the serial number. Once you fill it you can snap it closed. Such a striking, gorgeous piece of recycled jewelry.
