PRISTINE RARE Victorian GEORGIAN VAUXHALL GLASS INSECT FLY Hair Pin TREMBLER

Description

This is a rare and beautiful Vauxhall glass hair ornament is from GEORGIAN Victorian era.... The metal is brass. The insect is mounted on a spring so that it moves like a nodder or a trembler as they used to call them. It has tiny red glass eyes. The top is mounted onto a U shaped pin which is tapered at both ends. The total length is 5 3/4 inches. The nodder spring is 3/4" long. It is hard to photograph the reflective glass. The glass is all silver coloured, no discoloured spots. I think this would look wonderful tucked into a bridal bouquet or worn in the hair or on a hat. Many uses!!
