    Description

    "WEEDING" HIS PROPERTY\
In the post-WW1 era Austria vied with Germany for its widespread vilification of Jews.  While the German government looked the other way, many members of the Austrian government fully supported their persecution.  Thus it's no surprise that some of most virulently antisemitic currency was issued in Austria. This 50 Heller banknote is a prime - and
    rare
    - example of that trend.
The vignette depicts an irate citizen pointing a blaming finger at an itinerant Jewish salesman as he orders him to vacate his property. The slogan on the left proclaims "Away with the usurpers" , symbolized by an encroaching weed! The one on the left declares "Away with the slitherers", symbolized by a snake.
Historic century-old antisemitic currency in near perfect condition!
